MY NEW OBSESSION: FLOWERS

MY NEW OBSESSION: FLOWERS
DELLA FLOWERS1.jpg

Okay, I'll admit that back in the day I was never really a flower type of girl but it wasn't until I got married and my late husband would buy me flowers once a week and have them delivered to my home, the salon where I worked and even in the classroom of the college I attended at the time. Yeah, he was beautifully rare. But what Redd did teach me was that I was deserving of beautiful things such as flowers and so much more. His mission was complete, "I hope I made it hard for the next man, because baby, you deserve the best." Redd's no longer with us (#F!ckCancer) but I thank him for the simple things that are so very huge such as this.

ummmm I can't remember the name of these purple beauties but I got them at Ralph's for $2.99

As of lately, I've become a bit obsessed with blush colored roses and peonies and although I do make a trip to the Flower District a couple times a month, it's just as easy and inexpensive for me to purchase my favorites at my local grocery store. Just wait til the end of the day or first thing in the morning and you may score a beautiful bouquet like I do for only $2.99, hunni.

Here's the thing; flowers make my home smell heavenly and it makes me feel alive. Yes, it would be nice for someone to send a flower or dozen my way but I don't wait for anyone to do so, instead I embrace the reality that I am the architect and the designer of my own life. Therefore I make it beautiful. You should too. Try it. You deserve it.

Check out a few flower photos that I've captured during my visit at the Flower District, Farmers Markets and more below.
